Navigating Conflict in the Multicultural Classroom: The Use of Simulation-Based Learning for Peace Education in Teacher Training
Lecturer
- In today’s increasingly diverse classrooms, teachers face the daunting task of navigating complex conflicts arising from cultural, linguistic, religious, and social differences among students. Teacher education programs have a difficult time addressing this issue, struggling to provide effective solutions and develop practical methods to prepare teachers to deal with this challenge. This paper explores the use of simulation-based learning (SBL) in teacher education to train teachers with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to manage and resolve conflicts in heterogeneous classrooms effectively and constructively.
