Education as a double major:

A Bachelor's degree in education consists of three different programs:

1. Educational Counseling

3. Leadership, Organizational Development and Policy in Education

Two study tracks are available:

1. Structured double major track

The track consists of 25 course credits and is designed for students who wish to major in an additional program from the following departments:

School of Communication

Department of Sociology

Structured double major with the Educational Counseling program

Students studying in the Special Education program can combine an additional program from the following departments

2. Unstructured double major track:

The track consists of 27 course credits

Registration Process:

-Students must indicate the program in which they wish to enroll at the time of registration. Acceptance of the student in the program is contingent upon the approval by the Student Admissions office.

Exemption from and/or credits for courses and special consideration:

There are two types of special consideration:

1) Exemption without course credit- Students are not required to attend a course with content similar to courses studied in other institutions, but are required to attend another course in its place.

2) Exemption including course credit- Students are credited the number of credits obtained at another institution for a course with content similar to the one for which they are exempt.

Notes:

1) Courses not taught as part of a recognized institution are not eligible to receive credit.

2) Students studying courses in other departments (such as sociology, psychology, etc.) with content overplaying with mandatory courses taught in the School of Education may apply for exemption from the latter courses. The School of Education will substitute other courses for these in order to complete the number of credits needed to obtain the degree. The request must be submitted to the Status Committee.

3) Requests for exemption and/or credit must be submitted to the Status Office at the Information desk in the Administration building (Judaism Building 402) the beginning of the second semester during the first year of study. The requests must include details and certificates for the courses attend at other institutions and for which students request an exemption and/or credit.

Students who took courses identical in content to courses required by the School of Education can submit a request to the Status Office to be exempted from attending those courses. The Status Committee is granted the authorization to exempt.

The request must include the following: a complete list of the titles of courses learned, the name of the institution, lecturers' names, course outlines, number of academic hours in the course, and confirmation of the grades.

Incomplete information will preclude consideration of the student's request.
