About us

The main goal of the Center & Research Lab is to advance young children with special
needs, via advanced, timely, age-appropriate educational technologies. To achieve this
goal, as part of an Ecological approach, the center operates in four dimensions: clinical,
training professionals, Parents’ guidance, and follow-up research.
 

The Clinical Dimension. Using state-of-the-art technologies adapted especially to the
child’s specific difficulties, the clinic centers on building academic skills using individual
and group interventions. An individual intervention program is planned for each child
after undergoing a diagnostic process in the clinic. It should be indicated that preference
is given to children from a low socioeconomic background.
 

The Training Professionals Dimension. Training is provided for professionals working
in the field is delivered on two levels: (a) Training workshops aimed at using Advanced
Technologies; (b) Following the child’s intervention period, the child’s educator is
provided with guidance and advanced tools. In addition, children’s parents participate
in a workshop that provides them with Technological mediation tools.
 

Parents’ guidance. Parents are provided with updated mediation tools and learn how
to adapt various technologies for promoting learning with their children. 

The Research Dimension. The Center is committed to developing new knowledge by
closely following the clinical work and training of professionals with sound cutting-edge
research. Faculty research leaders in the field and students are involved. 

Impact

Through innovative clinical work, state-of-the-art training, and cutting-edge research,
the center and research lab of Advanced Technologies is devoted to contributing to the
community and helping children with learning disabilities grow and advance to their full
potential.
